A. Living in Pink is a volunteer organization. We are committed to giving 100% of profits to local research and awareness programs.

Q. How much money was generated by the First Annual Living in Pink Luncheon?

A. The First Annual Living in Pink Luncheon, held October 8th at the Four Seasons Hotel in Washington, DC, resulted in approximately $55,000 through the generous donations of our corporate sponsors, luncheon attendees, boutique sales and individual donors.

Q. Where will the money generated by the First Annual Luncheon be donated?

A. Living in Pink, in conjunction with Dr. Pam Peeke, Dr. Fred Smith and others in the local breast cancer community, is close to finalizing the list of organizations that will receive the donations. These organizations, many of which are local in nature, focus on research and awareness programs. Once the list has been finalized in the coming weeks, Living in Pink will update our website to include the selected programs and organizations.

Q. What continuing activities does Living in Pink plan to maintain the momentum generated by the First Annual Luncheon?

A. Sales of Living in Pink products, via this website and through our retail partners including Tickled Pink Stores (in Bethesda, MD, Alexandria, VA, and Rehobeth Beach, DE) is the single most important activity at this time. Sales of the Living in Pink wristband have surpassed 50,000 to date, generating additional funds that will also be donated to local research and awareness programs. In addition to internet and retail sales, Living in Pink plans to participate in the programs that receive our charitable donations. If you are interested in volunteering, please use our “Contact Us” page to tell us of your desire to participate. We will notify you of upcoming activities and opportunities to volunteer. Based on the overwhelming response and feedback from out First Annual Luncheon, we intend to make it an annual affair.

A. As of December 10, 2004, Living in Pink will begin offering Youth-sized Wrist Bands for sale. Please check our catalog for availability.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women, except for nonmelanoma skin cancers. The chance of developing invasive breast cancer at some time in a woman�s life is about 1 in 7 (13.4%).

It was estimated that in 2005 about 211,240 new cases of invasive breast cancer would be diagnosed among women in the United States.

At this time there are slightly over 2 million women living in the US who have been diagnosed with and treated for breast cancer.
